BHCRI is very pleased to announce the 2023 summer studentship competition with up to 5 awards offered in the amount of $5000 each for a 14-week term during the summer of 2023.
NEW: Supervisors are required to provide a top up of $2500 (min) to ensure trainees receive funding above their provincial minimum wage (please view the application form for details)
The following awards are available:
- IWK Foundation Jeremy Ingham Cancer Research Studentship – One studentship is available. Priority will be given to applications for research into pediatric cancers. Jeremy’s generosity will allow this award to be offered annually – no geographic restrictions.
- Canadian Cancer Society Carol Ann Cole Comfort Heart Summer Studentship for breast cancer research – one studentship to support a project in breast cancer – no geographic restrictions.
- D.W. Hoskin Summer Studentship for Cancer Research – one studentship is available. Preference will be given to prostate or breast cancer projects – no geographic restrictions.
- Badner Family Fund Summer Studentship for Lung Cancer Research – through a generous donation to Lung Cancer Canada – one studentship is available. Priority will be given to support a project in early detection of lung cancer – no geographic restrictions
- GIVETOLIVE Summer Studentship – one studentship available – unrestricted
An Intent to Apply form is due by 4pm AST on 6 January 2023. The Intent to Apply is to provide notification of a forthcoming award application and assists BHCRI in ensuring appropriate expertise on the Scientific Review Panels. It does not determine eligibility.
The deadline for application submission is 4pm AST on 1 February 2023.
