Research Interests:
global oncology, breast cancer, access, peritoneal surface malignancy, cancer genomics, screening, low-and middle-income countries
There are three pillars to my research: 1) local breast cancer research, with an interest in building local biobanking capacity and addressing inequities of access to breast-conserving surgery in Nova Scotia; 2) peritoneal surface malignancies, with a focus on building prospective data collection in Atlantic Canada; and 3) conducting and supporting high-impact cancer research spanning cancer genomics to clinical epidemiology and capacity building in low-and middle-income countries. I am an active member of the African Research Group for Oncology and have several active research projects underway with partners in Nigeria on colorectal cancer screening, cancer care financing and measuring access to breast cancer care.
