BHCRI Announces the 2022 Summer Studentship Competition


We are very pleased to announce the 2022 summer studentship competition with up to 4 awards offered in the amount of $5000 each for a 14-week term during the summer of 2022.


The following awards are available:


  • Jeremy Ingham Cancer Research Studentship – Applications for research into pediatric cancers are encouraged. Jeremy’s generosity will allow this new award to be offered annually. 
  • Canadian Cancer Society Carol Ann Cole Comfort Heart Studentship for breast cancer research – one studentship to support a project in breast cancer.  
  • D.W. Hoskin Studentship for Cancer Research – one studentship is available. Preference will be given to prostate or breast cancer projects.

This competition is open to applicants at recognized institutions across Atlantic Canada. Supervisors must be a Scientist, Senior Scientist, Associate Member or Honorary Member (qualifying as a Scientist, Senior Scientist or Associate Member) of the Institute.

An Intent to Apply form is due by 4pm AST on 7 January 2022. The Intent to Apply is to provide notification of a forthcoming award application and assists BHCRI in ensuring appropriate expertise on the Scientific Review Panels. It does not determine eligibility.

The deadline for application submission is 4pm AST on 1 February 2022.

Please Note: An Intent to Apply form must be received by the deadline of 4pm AST on 7 January 2022 in order to apply for an award. Studentship Applications received without an Intent to Apply form will not be reviewed.
