Welcome to BHCRI: Leading Collaborative Cancer Research in Atlantic Canada
At the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI), we are united in the mission to advance cancer research across Atlantic Canada. Through our commitment to collaboration, innovation, and training, we bring together a dynamic network of researchers, healthcare professionals, and community partners to tackle the challenges of cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship.
In addition to these five strategic pillars, BHCRI recognizes the fundamental importance of fostering an institute that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). As part of this strategic plan and its implementation, BHCRI is committed to applying an EDI lens across all strategic objectives, ensuring that our policies, programs, and partnerships are inclusive, equitable, and reflective of the diverse communities we serve.
Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, BHCRI’s network extends across the four Atlantic provinces—Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador—uniting over 200 diverse and multidisciplinary members and 50 trainees from universities, hospitals, and research centers.
