Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI) Membership

The Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI) welcomes individuals across Atlantic Canada with a demonstrated interest in cancer research. This includes researchers, clinical care providers, research trainees, individuals working within support organizations, or anyone committed to advancing BHCRI’s mission and goals.

As an Atlantic Canadian organization with a multidisciplinary and diverse membership of cancer researchers, continuing to build a strong network and provide collaboration opportunities are key to BHCRI’s success.”

Membership Update - December 2025

BHCRI’s new membership structure takes effect in January 2026.

Faculty membership fee renewals will take place alongside our 2026 Cancer Research Conference registration. Details are outlined below. A link will be provided to access the new membership portal once it opens.

Membership category  Annual fee* Eligibility 
Trainee $0 Undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral fellow, research associate or medical trainee with a research focus on cancer.
Patient partner $0 Person with lived experience contributing to the patient partners program or serving on a BHCRI committee
Faculty memberships 
Affiliate member $0 Faculty, clinical staff, non-trainee research staff with a research focus on cancer.
Scientist $150 Faculty, clinical staff, non-trainee research staff with a research focus on cancer.
Senior Scientist $300 Faculty, clinical staff, non-trainee research staff with a research focus on cancer. Membership is discounted to $150 for membership on at least one committee per year.

*Memberships can be purchased for 1 or 5 year terms, with a 20% discount for the latter.
