Fall 2026 CRTP Award Competition
Providing stipend funding to CRTP Trainees (graduate students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral fellows enrolled in the CRTP). A limited number of awards from a variety of sources will be offered to outstanding applicants whose graduate research focuses on cancer.

If you are not currently a CRTP Trainee, please review the full CRTP Guidelines and mandatory curriculum requirements, then complete the CRTP Trainee Application to be considered for a 2026 CRTP Award.
Important: Prospective applicants must have their CRTP Trainee Application reviewed and accepted before submitting an Intent to Apply.

$17,500 CAD | Tenable over 12 months
Other Awards
A CRTP Trainee may not receive more than two CRTP awards.
A supervisor may supplement the value of the traineeship award from their grant support, and/or trainees may receive support from other awards while receiving the CRTP stipend. In all cases, the maximum amount paid by CRTP cannot exceed the original CRTP approved amount.
Please note: if you expect to transfer from Masters to PhD before
January 01, 2027 select the PhD award category. Your application will be reviewed with other PhD applicants.
The total amount received from awards must adhere to the following guidelines:

| PhD Candidate | Must not have completed more than 5 years of graduate study (including transfers from MSc programs). May apply for Postdoctoral funding if they have successfully defended thesis before award start. | Max combined award funding: $40,000 |
| Postdoctoral Fellow | Must not have completed more than 4 years of postdoctoral study | Max combined award funding: $70,000 |
Supervisor & Trainee Funding Guidelines
- Supervisors must be a BHCRI Member
- Supervisors may be listed on up to four trainee applications per competition, but no more than two of their trainees may be funded at any given time
