ABOUT BHCRI
Our History
BHCRI was established in 2009 and named in grateful memory of Mrs. Beatrice Hunter, whose generous 1999 bequest to the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation helped lay the groundwork for regional cancer research.
BHCRI evolved from the Dalhousie Cancer Research Program into a pan-Atlantic research institute, bringing together researchers and partners from across Atlantic Canada to strengthen cancer research and collaboration.
Our Strategic Plan
This Strategic Plan provides a shared roadmap for BHCRI’s continued growth and impact in cancer research across Atlantic Canada. Shaped by the voices and expertise of our community, it identifies five strategic pillars to guide our collective efforts forward. Together, these pillars reflect BHCRI’s commitment to research excellence, collaboration, communication, training and support, and long-term sustainability.
