Governance & Leadership

The Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI), housed within Dalhousie University, is dedicated to advancing cancer research across Atlantic Canada. Members live across the Atlantic Region and come together to develop and implement strategies for community and patient engagement, research, training and knowledge mobilization.
The Institute’s governance structure includes an Executive Council, a Management Advisory Council (MAC), and several operational committees, ensuring strategic direction, financial oversight, and research excellence:

| Executive Council

The Executive Council functions primarily as an advisory board, providing guidance and
input to the Scientific Director, BHCRI and staff of BHCRI on matters concerning the strategy and
impact of the Institute, particularly as they extend equitably to the Atlantic Region.
