Career Aspirations:

Wasitha is fascinated by the wide variety of potential uses for food components and their metabolites in disease prevention. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree investigating the use of natural food components in cancer chemoprevention.  After the completion of his Master’s research, Wasitha intends to pursue further research at the doctoral level to come up with successful cancer prevention strategies using natural food components.  The expectation is to combine research findings and knowledge in Food Science and Nutrition to develop commercial food products that can assist in cancer prevention.
