Project Title:User-centered development and testing of a smartphone app to treat insomnia in cancer survivors
I aspire to have an impact on the field of Behavioural Sleep Medicine. One of the main goals of my research is to help bridge the gap between scientific research and clinical practice, namely by increasing access to evidence-based interventions. As part of my Master’s thesis, I am working together with cancer survivors to develop a smartphone app to treat insomnia, an extremely common hurdle faced by many survivors which can have devastating effects on health and recovery. By ensuring the app is developed in a user-centered manner, we will be able to maximize its adoption and efficacy for the target population. As a member of the Cancer Research Training Program (CRTP), I hope to build my skills as a researcher and develop a strong network of other skilled researchers that will help me succeed as a cancer researcher.
