As both a neurosurgeon and a scientist I find it imperative to find better solutions to helping patients afflicted with brain cancer. Brain cancer is a devastating diagnosis to patients and their families and frankly, I am tired of telling people that there is nothing more we can offer. Therefore, science gives me a chance to try and bring about change and innovation.
What brought you to your current institution? I was recruited out of fellowship from the University of Toronto.
Hometown: I am originally from British Columbia
Why are you interested in your area of research? I doubt there is any individual at my career stage that has not been personally affected by cancer. However, I do research in brain tumours so that I can feel I am contributing to improving the overall care of brain tumour patients and their families.
