Development of point-of-care devices for cancer diagnosis and monitoring
We are developing new diagnostic devices to assist in rapid patient assessment anywhere. Prototype pocket-sized devices from our laboratory can carry out a complete blood count in seconds, using only a droplet of blood from a fingerprick. Counts of specific subtypes of blood cells can be used for diagnosis and monitoring of a range of leukemias and other disorders, returning results more quickly, cheaply and easily than alternative methods.
