Designing New Anticancer Compounds. Our research focuses on the design and synthesis of new bio-inspired compounds based on natural products, such as capsaicin (hot peppers) and ginergol (ginger). We are incorporating non-toxic boron groups into these new compounds as boron is known to selectively target cancer cells while leaving healthy cells intact.
